Frequently Asked Questions
How often does my pet need a physical examination?
Regular physical examinations are the foundation upon which effective preventive care is built. Because our pets can not effectively communicate their feelings to us, and because they have a natural tendency to hide outward signs of disease, we must regularly screen for clues that a problem is developing. We would recommend scheduling examinations at least twice a year for your pet.
Do you have emergency out-of-hours service?
Yes, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to treat your pet. All out of hours emergencies are seen by our own staff.
Should I take out pet insurance?
Yes, we would highly recommend taking out pet insurance. There are many different insurance companies to choose from, each of which offer a variety of different plans and levels of care. You must bear in mind that most insurers will not cover any condition that is classed as pre-existing, so it is best to take out insurance while they are young and healthy. Pet Insurance can mean that finances are less of a concern when it comes to emergencies and can make chronic illnesses much more affordable. It is better to be safe in the knowledge that your pet is protected rather than suffer any undue expense or heartache later on.
What if my pet needs specialist treatment?
Our practice has a wide range of surgical and diagnostic facilities that mean we can deal with the majority of operations and procedures ourselves. However, in some cases, we may decide that it is in your pets best interest to see a specialist and send them to a Refferal Hospital. We will be in close contact with this specialist Hospital and will recieve reports and updates documenting your pets progress each time they see a consultant there, allowing us to be upto date for when your pet comes back to us for follow up appointments.
How can I pay?
We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards and in some cases, we can accept cheque payments.
Can I make payments by installments?
We require full payment at the time of service.
